A View from the Shed
65mm of rain has so far fallen on the course this month, compounding an already wet surface. I have therefore, introduced a temporary trolley ban. This is to protect the high wear areas. I thank all golfers for your understanding in this matter.
One of the satisfying benefits of not being able to work on the course during this weather, is all of our machinery has now been jet washed, serviced and blades sharpened. We are ready to go when nature gives us the green light.
Last week, Mark and I had a very productive few days up in Harrogate, attending the annual BTME & BIC trade show, conference & seminars. Networking with fellow greenkeepers is always rewarding, together with appointments with trade representatives. Obviously a visit to Betty’s Tea Room was a must, whilst there too!
