On Sunday 29th April with the temperature feeling more like it was February we had 72 players in attendance to play our annual Susan Mew Trophy competition. The forercast was for rain most of the day and certainly in the afternoon but it held off and every player got round in the dry, nobody was particularly warm but Joanne’s Leek and Potato soup and homemade cheese scones soon warmed everyone up

Well done to the winners of the event David Tarry, Max Shallice-Palmer, Danny Palmer and Lai Choi who between them managed a score of 94 pts to take the Trophy. A special mention for Max Shallice-Palmer who contributed heavily to his teams score managing 48 points on his own!

2nd place 4 points behind were Phil Brennan, Derek Allen, Graeme White and Denny Seymour who scored 90 points and Dan West, Michelle Symonds, Ian Pethick and Sam Rogers took 3rd position with 89 points on countback from Chris Reed, Dan Mew, Nick Dobson and Joe Goodey.

A great day was had by all and between us we managed to raise £510 for the Mountbatten Hospice. We hope all the competitors enjoyed it and we hope to see an even bigger turn out for next years event.
